We invite all full season Dance & Drama students to represent BAC in the Jefferson Christmas Parade.

DRESS CODE

DRESS: In order to march or dance in the parade you MUST purchase the parade shirt by Nov 3 Participants must supply their own solid black dance/yoga pants or leggings (no colors or embellishments) and comfortable sneakers to wear with their parade shirts. Dress appropriate for the weather (under your parade shirt) – if its cold, I recommend wearing tights and leotard or a white turtleneck under. Please put hair in a bun.


DROP OFF / PICK UP / PARKING

CHAPERONES: Please have someone drop you and your child off at Memorial Drive by 12:15. The parade ends after the square – we will wind our kids back up to the studio for dismissal (we will not be returning to the starting line up after the parade)  We encourage chaperones (who are able) to to buy a parade shirt too — if not please just wear colors that match our shirt. ONLY BAC Kids can march with our group (and Parent Chaperones) – we kindly ask all sibling, friends and relatives to support us from the sidelines (but not marching) 

MARCHERS / DANCERS: DROP OFF/PICK UP
Drop off your child at memorial drive at 12:30 (chaperones at 12:15)
Pick up your child at BROADWAY ARTS CENTER after the parade

PARK: We recommend parking within walking distance to the studio so you can retrieve your child easily once we have finished.

BRING:
A bag of candy (we also need a few study gift bags to hold candy if any one can donate!)


PRACTICE VIDEO

The Parade routine will be taught in the following classes:

  • JAZZ 3 (Mon 6:15)

  • JAZZ 4 (Thur 4:45)

  • COMP A (Thur 4:45)

  • COMP B (Tue 5:00)

  • TEENS (Tue 7:45 & Thur 7:15)

  • ENCORE & SENIOR COMPANY


CANDY & BAGS: we will ask all participants to donate a bag of candy. We also need some sturdy gift bags to hold the candy in.

MARCHING CANDY THROWERS : Dance & Drama Student of all ages are welcome to march with us and throw candy to the crowds along the route! Students must be able to walk the entire route

JAZZ DANCERS:  (JAZZ Classes: Level 3/4, Comprehensive A/B, Teen, Company) may choose to dance with us in the parade. The parade routine is a Jazz number and will be taught in JAZZ classes. If you are a Level 3 or higher Ballet student (who does NOT take jazz) But would like to dance in the parade  please contact the studio to find out when you can come learn the routine (Or you may Sign up to be a marching Candy thrower)  SEE PRACTICE VIDEO FOR THE PARADE ROUTINE

CHAPERONES Adults age 18 or older are needed to walk with us and keep track of students for drop off / pick up. We encourage all chaperones to also purchase the parade shirts!! Or they may wear matching colored tops (Pink or Black).  CHaperones need meet us at 12:15 to check in your group.  ONLY BAC Students and Parents can participate – we kindly ask all sibling, friends and relatives to support us from the sidelines (not march)
