MISS CATHY: OWNER, DIRECTOR, INSTRUCTOR
Cathy is a certified elementary school teacher with over 25 years experience teaching Dance and Theater. Her energy, patience, and creatively structured classes keep students coming back year after year! She began her early dance training in Massachusetts studying Ballet, Tap, and Jazz at The Milford School of Dance. As Company member, she performed in regional and national competitions including “Dance Makers”, “Talent America”, and “Show Stoppers” .
Miss Cathy went on to earn a B.S. in Education, a B.A. in Psychology, as well as her Elementary Teaching Certificate at Westfield State University. While working towards her degrees, she was an active member in the Musical Theater Guild and served as the choreographer for all musical productions during her time there. After graduation, Miss Cathy began teaching at Backstage Dance Studio in Ashland MA, and became the Assistant Director in 2000. She also continued to study dance at the prestigious Jeanette Neilís Dance Studio in Boston as well as The Dancerís Workshop in Bellingham, Ma. In 2001, she was privileged as the choreographer for the Brimmer and May Performing Arts Summer Program for gifted and talented children in Chestnut Hill, MA.
Miss Cathy moved to Athens in May 2002 when she founded the first “Broadway Arts” Dance and Theater Company at the YWCO in Athens. In 2005, she fulfilled her lifelong dream of owning her own studio when she opened “Broadway Arts Center” in downtown Jefferson. Since then, she has been very involved in the community: raising money with her students for local charities including Fostering Hope and Family connections! She volunteered her time to choreograph for Jefferson Community Theater and most recently choreographed Newsies and Grease right here at Broadway Arts Center! Miss Cathy is grateful for the opportunity to bring her passion and love of performing arts to Jefferson, and strives to instill positive self-esteem, creativity and a lifelong appreciation of the Arts in all her students!!
MISS PAIGE: BALLET, POINTE, LYRICAL, TAP, JAZZ, MUSICAL THEATER
With over two decades of training, Miss Paige loves all things dance! Her passion for performing arts began as a child when she began studying dancing, singing, and acting. When she moved to Georgia in 2010, she found her second home with Broadway Arts Center. Paige began apprenticing as a teaching assistant all while training through their Senior Company program. During this time, Paige also performed with various local fine arts organizations and was given the opportunity to co-choreograph shows with Jefferson Community Theater. After high school, Paige began teaching full time at Broadway Arts Center. She teaches all subjects and age groups and has recently earned her pointe shoe fitting certification.
Outside of dance, Paige works as certified wedding coordinator and freelance photographer. When she’s not working, Paige enjoys spending time with her husband and two children and singing at her church.
MISS VICTORIA: CONTEMPORARY, LYRICAL, JAZZ, HIP-HOP
Victoria is so excited to be a member of the Broadway Arts Center family. She started her dance career at age three with BAC, and has had a strong passion for dance ever since. Over the years, Victoria has continued to perform, compete, and attend master classes and workshops across northeast Georgia. She danced throughout high school and college before eventually discovering her love for teaching. While she has trained in numerous styles of dance including jazz, hip-hop, and ballet, her favorite style is contemporary.
Currently, Victoria is obtaining an esthetician degree at Athens Technical College.She joined the Broadway Arts Center team in 2021 and is thrilled to share the artistry, expression, and freedom of dance with students of all ages.
MISS EDEN: BALLET, POINTE, TAP, JAZZ, LYRICAL, MUSICAL THATER
Eden started her dance career at age five and has been dancing ever since. In 2006, she joined Broadway Arts Center where she began training in theater, singing, and various styles of dance. She was a member of BAC’s Senior Company program for multiple years until she graduated high school in 2018. Eden was also involved in numerous Jefferson Community Theater summer productions from 2012 to 2016 and was privileged to co-choreograph their 2015 production of Mary Poppins. In addition to taking classes at BAC, she began apprenticing as an assistant instructor in 2012 and continued to do so until she eventually progressed to teaching.
Eden graduated from the University of Georgia with a BA in English where she was a member of the English honor society, Sigma Tau Delta, and had the opportunity to study abroad at the University of Oxford. She continues to grow and improve her dance education through various classes, clinics, and workshops. Through BAC, Eden developed a lifelong dedication for dance and now strives to instill that same passion in her students by guiding their progress and growth.
MISS JEN: DRAMA INSTRUCTOR
Jennifer lives in Jefferson with her husband and 4 children. She grew up in Kansas and has been active in theater from an early age. She and her husband met in their college theater program and moved to Georgia to further their education at University of Georgia where she received her Juris Doctorate. She became active in theater again after moving to Jefferson, both as a director and actor. In 2011 she began teaching at Broadway Arts Center. Since that time she has taught and mentored many young performers and directed such shows as Clue, Grease, Newsies, Elf, and Best Christmas Pageant Ever.
MISS EVEY: BALLET, TAP, JAZZ, MUSICAL THEATER
Miss Evey began studying with Broadway Arts Center 2012 and has been a member of the BAC family ever since. She began training in ballet, tap, jazz, and musical theater as a child before being accepted into BAC’s dance company. Outside of BAC, Evey participated in numerous theatre programs in school and within the community. After several years of assisting, Evey began teaching in 2021 in a variety of disciplines including tap and musical theater—her two favorite subjects.
Currently, Evey attends The University of Georgia as an honors student and psychology major. She hopes to use her undergraduate studies and experience with children to pursue pediatric psychology. Additionally, at school, she continues to expand her dance education as a member of the Tap Dawgs organization.
With over a decade of experience, Miss Evey fosters a creative and energetic learning environment. Through teaching, she hopes to share her love of performing arts—a love matched only by her fondness for red Jolly Ranchers and her cat, Mavis.
MISS KASSIE: BALLET, LYRICAL, POINTE, JAZZ
With 32 years of experience, Miss Kassie has fostered a long time passion for the dance world. She has studied various styles of performing arts including Russian ballet, tap, jazz, lyrical, contemporary, and musical theater. Throughout her training, she competed and performed across the southeast. In addition to dancing, she cheered and tumbled competitively throughout high school.
Kassie graduated college in 2011 with a bachelor’s degree in psychology. It was during this time that she first discovered her passion for dance education—focusing primarily on ballet—and has been teaching ever since. She went on to choreograph for competitive teams in lyrical, jazz and tap and worked with numerous studios. Eventually, Miss Kassie began teaching at BAC in 2020 and enjoys getting to share her love for the technique and discipline that comes with dance. Outside of dance, Kassie enjoys entrepreneurship and spending time with her two children.
